Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist is best known for her songs. She was among the youngest and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Shield she's received Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to perform live and to serve as a presenter at the awards ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is a rising star on the Indian sitar. She is a student and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. Her childhood was spent bouncing around from London in the UK to New Delhi. When she was only 13 the first time she performed was in New Delhi took place. She then moved in Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Even though she's very young, Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording career. She often joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for a number of years. She released Anourag her first album solo in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Because she has performed on many of the biggest stages around all over the globe, her stage career is extensive. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't restricted to just performing in music. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred as a character in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional is only going to continue to expand and expand. We are looking forward to seeing many interesting things coming from her. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent a lot of her youth living between London and Delhi later relocating to California where she attended the high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies at the age of nine. Four years later she played her first music debut with the sitar Delhi for her father's 70th birthday party. The father of Anoushka travelled the globe with her, and she was able to gain many new experience. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. She was the youngest and only female to receive the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and talent as a preeminent musician of in the Asian Arts.
